Process

Working with Kelly on a one-of-a-kind portrait is a pleasure. She values customer service and integrity as much as she values excellence in her work. Below is an outline of what you can expect when commissioning a custom portrait from Kelly. You may contact her or view her FAQ page if you have any additional questions.

Step 1 Initial Contact
Please contact Kelly's studio at 1-888-8-ARTIST or email her to discuss the vision and details of your portrait. During this initial contact you and Kelly will discuss medium, number of subjects, and what size will best suit your needs. She will also discuss any special matting or framing you might like, and if you want prints of your portrait for your family or friends. You may start the process now by submitting a Portrait Request Form.

Step 2 Send Kelly Your Photos
Please provide Kelly with any photos that you would like for her to reference, via mail or e-mail. Kelly can work from digital or printed photos. Kelly can combine multiple photos for your portrait for a small composite fee. A 50% deposit is required before Kelly begins your portrait, so you are welcome to send your photographs and deposit together. Please let her know if you would like to make special payment arrangements, such as small weekly or monthly payments for certain projects.

Step 3 Approve the Layout
Kelly is pleased to offer you a layout preview of your drawing or painting before she begins working. You will have the opportunity to preview and approve the composition, placement of subjects, and more. This allows the resolution of any issues before she begins your drawing or painting, and helps to ensure your satisfaction with the finished artwork.

Step 4 Approve the Completed Portrait
Kelly prides herself on her service and your complete satisfaction, so she will send you a preview of your final portrait before delivery or shipment. She will make any changes you would like in order to earn your approval. She will not send your portrait or expect final payment until you are completely satisfied with your artwork.

Step 5 Delivery of your drawing or painting
If you live in the Brentwood or Nashville area, Kelly will be happy to arrange a time for you to pickup your artwork in person and see the other work in her studio. Many of her clients are out-of-state or out-of-country, so you can be confident that she will carefully package and ship your artwork with insurance.
